Video LTE Connected Drones is a project I am spearheading in connection with Intel and Livecast. The concept was to stream live video over LTE for a demonstration at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

It is one thing to control a drone over LTE, another thing entirely to see a live view of what the drone sees in realtime. This project had an extremely tight deadline, countless technical challenges, and a venue where failure is not an option. At the end of the day it was a success. The tech bloggers and journalists raved about the demo, and I spent the next week explaining to everyone how we got this to work.

To get this to work, we had to build a specialized network, integrate a modem and connection manager into a drone, work with experts in video transcoding and compression, and setup a portal for use throughout the show. I could not believe how well everything worked, given how short the timeframe was. I am truly blessed to work with such great people.
